The ACCA Professional Scheme is a highly relevant and targeted
combination of study and practical experience. The syllabus is a
result of extensive research and consultation with governments,
students, colleges and employers from a range of public and
private sector organisations. Future employers will be aware of
your potential, because the ACCA qualification is highly
regarded throughout the world.
Entry Requirements
A
number of entry routes are available which take into account
different qualifications and recognise your previous
achievements.
UK
Professional Examination Route entry criteria:
2 A levels and 3 GCSEs (5 separate subjects including English &
Mathematics)
CAT Level B / Intermediate Level (complete)
AAT (UK) Intermediate (complete)
BTEC National Certificate (any subject)
Advanced GNVQ (any subject)
NVQ Level 3 / 4 (any subject)
Degree (from a recognised institution in any subject)
ACCA Certified Diploma in Accounting & Finance/Diploma in
Financial Management (complete)
A
Mature Student Entry Route (MSER) is also available to those who
do not meet the entry requirements above. If you are over 21
years old and do not fulfill the entry requirements of the
Professional Examination Route, you will
automatically
be
considered for the MSER ( Mature Student Entry Route ). MSER
candidates have a maximum of two years from the date of your
first eligible ACCA examination session to pass Papers M1 and M2
(the equivalent of Papers 1.1 and 1.2). If successful you will
be transferred onto the professional register and exempted from
Papers 1.1 and 1.2.

qualifications or details of exemptions for your country.

Start Dates
Courses start at ICON College in February, May and August each
year. ACCA examinations are held in June and December. The pass
mark for all examinations is 50%. Please contact ICON College
for the start dates of individual units. Note that a unit will
be offered if a sufficient number of students have enrolled for
that unit.
Course Duration
PART 1: Students take 3 compulsory papers in total. Full time
overseas students take 3 mandatory Papers, with a total of 15
hours a week study. Part 1 courses are studied over 3 sessions a
week for 13 weeks, plus tutorials and group work.
PART 2: Students take 6 compulsory papers in total. Full time
overseas students study 3 papers simultaneously, with 3 sessions
a week for 13 weeks, plus tutorials and group work.
PART TIME STUDY : Students who do not need a Student visa to
study in the UK may enroll to study any combination of subjects
from a single paper to a maximum of 6 papers in one year.
In
addition to completing the examinations successfully, students
are required to obtain a minimum of three years relevant
supervised practical experience in order to obtain ACCA
membership.
Syllabus
The ACCA syllabus aims to develop a comprehensive understanding
of the knowledge, skills and techniques required by the modern
professional accountant. The broad range of subjects is designed
to ensure a depth of high quality relevant knowledge, which can
be applied throughout your chosen career. The examinations are
divided into three parts:
All Part 1 and Part 2 Papers are mandatory. Part 3 includes both
Optional Papers and mandatory Core Papers.
In addition to completing the examinations successfully,
