Course descriptions:
This
course is for those students who have obtained a BTEC HND
and wish to continue their studies to degree level to become
an incorporated engineer. If you have the right pre requisit
, you may continue for addisional semester and gain honours
BSc degree/ addisional 1 year gain an honours level BEng
degree.
Following
the successfull completion of the Edexcel BTEC Level 5 HND
in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, the student can
apply to London South Bank University or other UK universities
for "Top-Up" BSc/BEng(Hons) in Telecommunication and Computer Network Engineering
degree.
What are the entry requirements?
BTEC Higher National Diploma in Electrical and Electronics
Engineering with distinction or merit in more than half of
the units (minimum 8 distinctions or merits)
How long
is the course?
You will study for 3-4 years in London to gain your degree,
which is awarded by a UK University. 1 year top-up for BSc,
1 year and 1 semester for BSc(Hons) and 2 years for BEng(Hons).
The first two years will be spent at ICON College in the
heart of London, studying for a nationally recognised BTEC
Higher National Diploma (HND) awarded by Edexcel (formerly
the University of London External Examination Board). This
is a specialist vocational programme with a strong work-related
emphasis.
What
is the course structure?
The HND part of the course is made up of sixteen units.
There are 60 learning hours for each unit. Then in final
year you are rquire to study following course units at London
South Bank University.

How is
the course assessed?
Each units is internally assessed by course work/exam and
graded by LSBU tutors and internaly and externaly moderated.
Degree awarded are Pass, Second Class, Higher Second Class
and First Class.
